Rachel has been teaching one to one for over seven years in her local infant school, firstly with a Year 1/2 maths intervention before moving to Reading Recovery, completing her Reading Recovery training-year in June 2015. She took time out to raise her family, returning in 2008.
In addition to her school teaching work, Rachel has had experience offering online tuition privately. Her specialist area is Key Stage One, although she also has experience tutoring lower Key Stage Two children struggling with reading and writing and tutoring children with additional learning needs.
Rachel has always loved reading and enjoys being able to pass on this skill to the next generation. In recent years she has attended some overseas volunteer projects in the school holidays to help children in those locations develop their English language skills, thus enhancing their future employment opportunities.
