Catherine Ward-Langman M.A., P.G.C.E.
I love the personal nature of tutoring: discovering the obstacles to a student’s learning; helping them overcome those obstacles; and watching them realise their potential is what makes this job so enjoyable.
I am a fully qualified teacher with experience across primary and secondary education as well as one to one tuition. I gained my 2:1 in Modern History from St Hilda’s College, Oxford and originally trained as a History teacher teaching up to A-Level. I also worked as a Humanities teacher teaching geography and RE and more recently as an English teacher at both Key Stage 3 and 4.
I have taught a range of English syllabuses for GCSE and have also taught SATs interventions to Years 2 and 6. For the past three years I have worked in primary schools where I have taught one to one, small intervention groups and whole classes. I was also responsible for some sessions with trainee teachers as an Associate Tutor at Leicester University. Whilst teaching, I studied part-time for an MA in English Local History which I passed with distinction.
