Outstanding Maths, English, Reading, Spelling and Writing tuition for children aged from 5 – 16, after school during the week, on Saturdays and during school holidays. We start by asking parents to let us know their concerns so we can focus on the areas of greatest need. Then we design a completely individualised learning programme for each child. Denby Liddelow Dip. Teach., B.Ed. - Maths and English private tutor
An experienced teacher and Excelr8 Learning's founder, Denby has specialised in out of school education since 1994, helping children achieve their potential and succeed at school. He opened Excelr8 Learning at Hardwick in 2006 with the aim of providing outstanding, supplementary private tuition for Cambridge children.
Anna Crown B.Ed., M.Sc. - Maths and English private tutor
Centre Manager, Anna is an English specialist with over 25 years’ experience. Following her initial degree in English and Drama, Anna taught in several secondary schools in England. Anna is a qualified A.S.T. (Advanced Skills Teacher). She has previously held Head of English Faculty and Assistant Head Teacher posts.
Paul Jordan B.Ed. - Maths and English private tutor
Paul is a highly experienced and enthusiastic career teacher who taught in Cambridge schools for over 25 years followed by a position tutoring in Ely for an Australian-based organisation from 2007 - 2009. Paul decided to join us at Excelr8 Learning as he was greatly impressed with our superior UK curriculum-based teaching systems and methods and we are delighted to have him on our team.
Amanda Gibbard B.A. Hons, PGCE, M.A. - Maths and English private tutor
Amanda is currently employed part-time in a Cambridge primary school and also works part-time at Excelr8 Learning. Her wide experience includes primary teaching in the UK and teacher training in the Gambia and at the University of East Anglia. Amanda’s interests include gender issues, education in Sub-Saharan Africa, literacy, non-formal education and community development. Amanda is a committed and experienced tutor and a valuable member of our team.
Dorothy Moore B.Ed., PGCE - Maths and English private tutor
Dorothy originally trained as a primary teacher and has wide experience of primary teaching in both the U.K. and U.S.A. Her specialities are Numeracy and Literacy. Dorothy is very experienced with Key Stage 1 and 2 students and is a committed and enthusiatic member of our Hardwick tutoring team.
Geraint Roberts B.Sc - administrator & teaching assistant
Geraint joined Excelr8 in 2009 as an administrator and teaching assistant. Geraint’s degree is in Mathematics and Statistics. Additionally, he has taught in a local secondary school as a trainee teacher whilst studying at Homerton College Cambridge. Geraint is fluent in Welsh, speaks German and has a love of travelling, having visited most countries in Europe. He is a valued member of our team who will gladly handle all your administration queries.
Cate Lankester - private tutor
Cate is A fully qualified teacher and has extensive tutoring experience at an international level. She is also a qualified counsellor and has many years’ experience in both teaching and counselling young people. Cate’s interests include languages as she is a fluent speaker of both French and Spanish, having lived abroad for a number of years and experienced cultural diversity. We welcome Cate’s valuable contribution to the success and development of Excelr8 Students.
Private Tutoring Lesson Details:
Lessons are 1 1/4 hours long and start at the times listed below. Each lesson is prepared individually for each child and contains several different activities to ensure students are inspired, interested and enjoy the work. Parents are able to specify the subjects studied and the lesson focus. More than one subject can be included during each lesson. After the lesson we take the time to let parents know about the successes and difficulties encountered by their child during the lesson. Subjects available include: Maths - English - Reading - Spelling - Written Expression – Handwriting - other (please ask)
